How to navigate the new world of SAGE Dining

Feeling lost? Read on for a personal guide on how to approach SAGE Dining Service’s lunch system.

At the forefront of SAGE’s offerings, you will see what is labeled as “Crossroads.” Playfully advertised as “The Intersection of Fun and Flavor,” this is where you will find the main entree.

Given the option, always be sure to load up on toppings. Extra guac or bacon is a necessity, and a great way to glean the most out of your meals. Don’t be afraid to ask for an extra scoop or some more home-fries, as this won’t affect the price.

A little further down the line is another hot food choice. This is a perfect place if the entree isn’t for you, or the line is simply too long. “Main Ingredient” has been home to some of the most enticing lunch options, all with no line and quick turnaround, with favorites like Chicken Tikka Masala making a surprise appearance.

The “Main Ingredient” section is often cheaper than “Crossroads,” which has improved its appeal for many.

However, some students skip the major sections entirely, opting for a different choice: “Classic Cuts Deli.” “The sandwich section is criminally underrated,” said senior Will Swan. “No one seems to go for it— more for me!” If sandwiches sound good to you, then follow Swan’s advice. (We’re still waiting on the panini press.)

Upon entering the Tennis Court, you must immediately consider the complicated value ratios: pure volume of food vs. length of line vs. potential deliciousness. But once you find the perfect balance, you’re guaranteed a solid lunch.

And don’t forget to pick up a chocolate milk on the way out.
